축구의 다양성, diversity of football

 

전술의 다양성도 축구의 재미 중 하나. 22명의 선수들 전원이 동시에 움직이며, 경기장도 비교적 넓으며 또 세계에 가장 널리 보급된 스포츠로서 세계 각지에서 여러 가지 언어를 쓰는 지구인들이 제각기 어울려서 즐기는 경기다 보니 보이는 양상은 다양하다고 할 수 있다.

전 세계적인 규모로 리그나 국가, 팀별로 다양한 전술의 팀 컬러를 가지고 있으며 축구를 즐기는 재미있는 요소 중의 하나이다. 축구에 밝지 못한 사람이라도 네덜란드의 토탈 사커, 화려한 발기술로 상대 선수를 제치는 삼바축구의 브라질, 빗장수비 카테나치오의 이탈리아 등의 이미지는 대강 알 정도. 여기에 더해 점유율을 높이는 티키타카의 스페인, 프랑스 특유의 기술이 혼합된 아트 사커, 잉글랜드의 킥 앤 런, 게겐 프레싱을 주로 하는 독일의 조직력과 육체 능력 등 나라별로 색깔이 뚜렷하며, 나라마다 축구가 그런 식으로 발달하게 된 나름의 이유도 있으며 민족성마저 묻어나곤 한다.

이는 내로라하는 강팀들 간의 이야기만으로 그치는 게 아니다. AFC 국가들만 해도 한국, 일본, 중국, 호주, 이란, 사우디아라비아, 아랍에미리트, 우즈베키스탄 등 여러 국가들의 전술에서 고유의 팀 컬러가 나오고 있으며 서로가 서로를 잘 알고 있다. 각 나라의 프로축구 리그, 그리고 리그 내의 팀별로도 서로 간의 팀 컬러가 다르다.

그러나 축구의 전술 폭이 다양하고, 그리고 가용할 수 있는 선수는 언제나 다르기 마련이며 심지어 선임된 감독의 축구 철학도 천차만별이기 때문에 제각기 각 팀의 전술은 유기적으로 항상 달라질 수밖에 없다. 11명이 모여서 하나의 팀으로 펼치는 전술의 축구가 필드 위에서 어떻게 제대로 조화가 되는지도 축구를 즐기는 재미있는 요소 중의 하나다. 말로 하면 똑같아 보이는 4-3-3이나 다이아몬드 4-4-2 전술이라도 감독의 철학과 선수의 차이에 따라 전혀 다른 모습으로 보이곤 한다.
